2020 Annual Report
Like the lives of most Americans, my work in Congress was dominated by the COVID-19 pandemic and economic fallout during 2020. I am extremely proud of the assistance my team provided constituents with both pandemic-related needs and more routine requests, such as seniors who needed help navigating Social Security and Medicare, veterans who couldn't access their benefits and struggling families facing foreclosure or eviction. In all, Team Dutch responded to more than 2,900 citizen help requests, processed 34,096 phone calls, emails and letters and recovered more than $1.5 million in tax dollars for constituents in 2020.
We also delivered results from Washington, leveraging my role on the Appropriations Committee to secure hundreds of millions of dollars in resources for Maryland and the Second District. We passed legacy legislation that will reduce the cycle of violence in communities like Baltimore and protect America's shorelines – including those along the Chesapeake Bay.
